ProGlycProt Second Release

ProGlycProt is a manually curated, comprehensive repository of experimentally characterized glycoproteins and glycosyltransferases that are involved in protein glycosylation, in bacteria and archaea, exclusively. ProGlycProt repository has two main database sections namely, ProGPdb and ProGTdb that are cross referenced to each other and searchable through specified Criteria, by selected Feature    ProGPdb provides extensive experimentally verified information on glycosites and glycoproteins of the prokaryotes, wherein each entry has a unique ProGT ID. ProGPdb has two catalogues: ProCGP and ProUGP. While ProCGP is a catalogue of characterized prokaryotic glycoproteins, defined as entries with at least one experimentally known "glycosylated residue (glycosite)", ProUGP is a catalogue of uncharacterized prokaryotic glycoproteins, defined as entries where glycosylation is known but not the glycosite(s).

ProGTdb provides manually curated detailed information about experimentally characterized protein glycosyltransferases (GT) and its accessory proteins in bacteria and archaea, exclusively. The qualifying criteria for an entry is; at least one genetic or biochemical evidence of its function, in published literature. Each entry has a unique ProGT ID. Within ProGTdb, the catalogue of known protein glycosyltransferases is termed as ProGT_Main, whereas all the accessory proteins are catalogued under ProGT_Accessory. Additional tools like Compare, MapSequon, GlyseqExtractor and Blast facilitate an interactive and intuitive database search and protein sequence analysis, respectively. Hide>>>
