Glycosylation Type O- (Tyr) linked
Technique(s) used for Glycosylation DetectionChemical deglycosylation with TFMS
Glycan Information
Glycan Annotation Linkages: β-Glc-O-Tyr, β-Gal-O-Tyr. Glucosyl tyrosine is found in short-chain glycans while galactosyl tyrosine in long-chain glycans. It is the first report where the unusual monosaccharide 3-acetamido-3,6-dideoxy-D-glucose (quinovosamine) has been found to be present in S-layer glycoproteins. Repeating hexasaccharide [→4)[β-D-Quip3NAc-(1→6)-β-D-Galf-(1→4)-α-L-Rhap-(1→3)]-α-D-Manp-(1→4)-β-D-Galp-(→4)-β-D-Glcp-(1→]n=17 is present. Microheterogeneity is also observed.
